The Hindi film The Dirty Picture is based on the life of the Tamil glamour queen Silk Smitha. Vidhya Balan has donned the role of Silk Smitha. Many including Naseeruddin Shah and Emraan Hashmi have acted in this film.


Ekta Kapoor has produced this film. This film has been directed by Milan Luthara. The late Silk Smitha had scintillated and titillated the Tamil audience with her beautiful sexy glamour. Since this film is based on her life, there is a tough competition among the Tamil Nadu distributors to acquire the rights of this film.


But Abirami Ramanathan who had acquired the rights of Ra One has acquired the rights of the film Dirty Picture for a whooping price pushing back all the other distributors. This film is being released in 100 screens in Tamil Nadu.


The demand for this film is because the name Silk itself is the magic. The film is being released on 2nd of December.
